Definitions

Alde Heating – The CS, and some of our SS models, use the Swedish Alde system for heating: boiling glycol  anti-freeze circulates from a tank thru a series of tubes that run along the walls and under the floor. Think radiant heat.

AC –  Rear Air conditioning (over bed)

Solar – Available on the CS, RSXL, SS and Coachman Galleria, solar panels power electrical systems, and maintain a constant level of full charge in the auxiliary batteries.  The two 6V front batteries provide all MINOR electrical to the cabin.

Shore power – Defined as plugging in the motorhome to an external power source: Recreational vehicles and boats use the same terminology. The external power source is ample and capable of supplying the required high amperage for powering the MAJOR appliances such as A/C unit; oven, built in convection oven; and providing adequate power to run a  toaster, hair dryer etc.

Inverter power – In solar motorhomes, the 2500w inverter (and some of our campers have a 5000 w inverter) can run the MAJOR appliances IN THE ABSENCE of shore power.  Prolonged operation of these items will simply enlist an engine mounted alternator.  But in these motorhomes, there IS NO GENERATOR, and therefore the operation is MUCH QUIETER.
