Alternative airports in the south are West Yellowstone (WYS), Idaho Falls (IDA), Pocatello, Idaho (PIH), and Salt Lake City, Utah (SLC). BE MINDFUL that SLC is cheapest, but also 6 hours from the park. You could stop at Lava Hot Springs — historical natural hot springs with a KOA next door:
“LAVA HOT SPRINGS” — and leave the next morning for Jackson up a stunning river-bordered curvy mountain road. The excitement of the uphill climb (in traffic) ends with a breathtaking view of Jackson Valley.
You would, in this scenario, end your Sprinter Campervan rental in Bozeman. Bozeman Airport is Montana’s busiest airport, serving as the gateway to Yellowstone National Park, Big Sky, and Montana State University. Technically “BZN” is located in BELGRADE.
